Nick Levay
Nick Levay is chief security officer of Bit9 + Carbon Black. His responsibilities include managing the company’s security operations center (SOC), setting security strategy, and ensuring that in-house security and threat intelligence functions are aligned with product development. In addition to his operational role at Bit9 + Carbon Black, Levay is a leading voice in the security community regarding best practices for running security programs and implementing cutting-edge technology.

Levay came to Bit9 from the Center for American Progress (CAP), an influential Washington, D.C., think tank, where he was director of technical operations and information security.

Levay joined CAP in 2007 to redesign the organization’s network and establish an information security program. During the next six years, he rose to become a trusted provider of cyber security expertise to former National Security Council, White House and Pentagon officials.

Prior to CAP, Levay was director of global systems engineering for iAsiaWorks, Inc., where he was a key member of the team that built state-of-the-art data centers in Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul and other major cities. Earlier in his career he worked for Internet service providers, software companies and website development firms.

Levay earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Middle Tennessee State University and is an (ISC)² Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
